What is Viscose Jersey?
Viscose Jersey is a knitted fabric. The type used in Amanda Monique dresses is made up of 95% viscose and 5% elastane/spandex. It is super soft to the touch, light to mid-weight, stretchy and drapes beautifully, making it the perfect choice for comfortable casual dresses.
What is Viscose though? We've all heard of elastane, or spandex, or lycra, but viscose is a bit less commonly known.
Viscose is actually a type of rayon which is a man-made fibre. It shares similar properties to cotton, but is manufactured from regenerated cellulose.
Other benefits of viscose include:
- Retains brilliant colour
- Comfortable
- Moisture absorbent (more so than cotton or linen)
- Breathable
Hopefully this has given you a better understanding of what viscose jersey is and why it has been chosen for our garment production.(https://www.barnhardtcotton.net/blog/q-and-a-what-is-viscose/)(http://www.swicofil.com/products/200viscose.html)
